A Cherished Roseapple Myrtle Bonsai – 11 Years of Character, Colour & Care
This adorable Roseapple Myrtle Bonsai (Syzygium buxifolium) has been part of our nursery family for over a decade, and we’ve absolutely loved caring for him. Over the years, we’ve gently shaped and pruned him, carefully encouraging his delicate branching and vibrant foliage. It’s been a real joy to watch this characterful little tree develop—and though it’s always a little bittersweet to say goodbye, we know he’s ready now to be enjoyed in a loving new home.
“I really love the design of this myrtle bonsai. From the soil upward, the artistic and dramatic style is absolutely stunning. The strong roots rise from the earth and merge into a semi-leaning, curving trunk with beautiful flow. The canopy is neat and compact, and the small handmade clay figurine adds a wonderful touch—bringing quality, proportion, and depth to the overall composition. We do need to just cause it gets rid of them that you like of potential.”
With its compact size and informal upright trunk, this bonsai perfectly mimics a full-sized tree in miniature. His rich red-toned bark and twisty trunk give him a wonderful sense of age and natural beauty.

We’ve always admired his glossy, miniature green leaves—especially in spring and summer, when they catch the light and reveal flashes of red and gold. When the dainty ivory flowers arrive, they make a subtle but magical display, followed by small cherry-like fruits in late summer and autumn. It’s these seasonal changes that make him feel so alive and rewarding to care for.
He’s now potted in a shiny bronze ceramic pot and tray, which suits his warm tones perfectly. This pot gives the whole composition a little lift and polish, without taking attention away from the natural beauty of the tree itself.
