The Cherry Blossom bonsai is a hardy deciduous outdoor tree, celebrated for its stunning seasonal variation. In spring, it produces delicate, butterfly-like flowers, followed by small ornamental cherry fruits in summer. As autumn arrives, its foliage transforms into a vibrant display of reds, oranges, and golds. This beautiful bonsai thrives best in a sheltered spot such as a garden, patio, or balcony, where it can be protected from harsh winds while enjoying the changing seasons.

This is a fabulous Prunus Incisa Kojo No Mai hardy Bonsai Tree with delicate pink and white spring time flowers. This bonsai has been individually photographed and is the exact bonsai that you will receive.
The trunk has textured bark throughout; fast growing and fun to grow on.
The zigzag branches are an exceptional support system for the beautiful flowers.
This tree will be captivating all year round. During winter it will display bare zig zag shaped branches which will grow crimson buds, into spring it will bloom small white flowers which will have a pink tone to them with a deep pink centre and the pale green leaves will start to grow through turning a darker green throughout the summer, finishing in autumn with an autumnal flush of orange, red and gold serrated leaves before the cold weather strips the branches again.

“Kojo No Mai” actually means “flight of the butterflies” which is very apt for this tree as when the flowers begin to drop they look like butterflies floating in the wind.

Please note: We grow our cherry blossom bonsai trees outside and they are a deciduous bonsai species. They should be grown outdoors as they are fully hardy. They are early Spring flowerers, so you should see new buds in February/March. When out of leaf they still exhibit a lovely structure. From spring budding you get wondrous soft pink/white blossom, followed by lush lime green leaves. During autumn you get cherry fruits and spectacular autumn red and golden hues.
