How do I feed my bonsai? Tips on hot to feed a bonsai!

Bonsai are reliant on us for all their nutrients, so we need to make sure we give them everything we need. Please feed your tree once a week with a bonsai fertiliser. You will need to dilute your bonsai fertiliser with water, as full-strength can burn the roots. The instructions on how to dilute your bonsai feed will be on the bottle.

“For healthy bonsai always use a good bonsai fertiliser. Using Bonsai Direct’s fertiliser will help keep your bonsai strong and healthy.”

“Carefully measure the correct amount of bonsai feed as stated on the bottle. Add this to one liter of clean water. Both tap water and rain water are fine. And now mix. Using a clean watering can, water the soil surface evenly, making sure that the soil is wet through. Stop when the water drips through the drainage holes in the bottom of the pot.”

“Any unused solution can be saved for next time. Feed indoor bonsai once a week. We recommend that outdoor bonsai are fed weekly during the main growing seasons of spring, summer and autumn.”
